Vaquita

Vaquita | Phocoena sinus

he Vaquita (Phocoena sinus) is a small species of porpoise that lives in the northern part of the Gulf of California. It is one of the smallest cetaceans in existence and is considered by the International Whaling Commission to be a species at high risk of extinction. In fact, there are only about 10 individuals left in the world, due to the use of illegal fishing nets in which they often become trapped.
